Why is my watch display fading?
I just put a new battery in yesterday and now the watch display is fading. Whenever the seconds change, the display just fades and goes back on again, and it keeps on doing that. When I press on the battery cover, it either gets worse or goes back to normal. The battery is fully secured too. I have a Timex 30 lap Ironman if that helps.

“New” batteries can be bad; I’ve seen a few.
Measure the voltage of the cell with a digital VOM
(if you don’t have one, maybe someone else does; Harbor Freight
sells crummy-but-usable ones for as little as $3 at times).
If the cell is silver oxide or similar, it should provide 1.35 to 1.6 V;
if lithium, about 3 V, possibly slightly more.
Many cheap “go/no-go” battery testers will indicate that good cells are weak,
or that weak cells are good.
A store that replaces watch batteries should have a decent tester.

Where can I watch fireworks display here in Metro Manila for New Year’s Eve?
I’m having trouble finding a place where my family and I could watch fireworks display for new year’s eve. I’m finding a place where there is a hotel near the area.

If you can afford to stay at the Shangrila Makati, book a room facing the Ayala side, on the end with a view of The Fort.
The most spectacular fireworks happen at The Fort and and on the Ayala side, stretching to the Makati proper area.
Alternatively, you can book a bayside room at Sofitel Philippine Plaza, facing south. There are fireworks along the bay. If you can not afford Sofitel Philippine Plaza, then even Aloha Hotel or Bayview Plaza will be ok, as long as you get rooms facing the bay.

Let’s be realistic, of course you can include the different tides and sea levels, date but is there anything that people haven’t gotten on there watch yet that would be a bonus to buying a wrist-watch?
